Thessaloniki: Motorcyclist Prevents Apartment Burglary

A motorcyclist in Thessaloniki prevented an attempted burglary at an apartment in the Toumba area. The incident occurred on Monday evening, July 21st, around 9:00 PM.

The motorcyclist noticed two individuals climbing the pipes of an apartment building to break into an apartment. He started shouting, forcing the perpetrators to flee.

The police were notified and arrested one of the two perpetrators. The arrested individual had a heavy criminal record and was sentenced to 15 months in prison by the Thessaloniki Misdemeanor Court. However, his appeal has a suspensive effect on the execution of the sentence.

The accused denied the charges, claiming it was a misunderstanding.
