A jeweler in Thessaloniki was scammed by a man posing as a businessman from Istanbul. According to the report, the perpetrator managed to obtain a valuable piece of jewelry without paying.

The jeweler reported that the man visited his store on July 15, 2025, and asked to buy an expensive gold jewelry, pretending it was a gift. He claimed to be a businessman from Istanbul and that he would make an immediate bank transfer.

Despite the promise of an immediate transfer, the money never appeared in the jeweler's account. The perpetrator, according to the complaint, had deposited 10,000 euros as collateral for a future collaboration, which also turned out to be false.

The jeweler, after contacting other businessmen, discovered that the same man had used the same method in other cases. The jeweler's lawyer, Ανθούλα Ανάσογλου, stated that her client proceeded with the report to be vindicated and to warn other businessmen.

The jeweler is preparing to file a lawsuit for fraud.
