Eighteen years after a vitriol attack on a 27-year-old woman in Thessaloniki, the case remains unsolved. On January 26, 2007, Androniki T. was attacked with corrosive liquid while on her way to work.

An unknown man approached her on Nathanael Street and doused her with the liquid. A 24-year-old, El. Gk., tried to stop him, but the perpetrator also threw corrosive liquid on him and fled. Androniki was taken to Hippokratio Hospital with severe burns.

According to the police, the perpetrator was approximately 40 years old, with short black hair, wearing a gray jacket and jeans. Despite investigations, he was never arrested. The green plastic container with the corrosive liquid was found in a trash can.
