Thessaloniki: Search for Two Witnesses in 20-Year-Old's Murder

Authorities in Thessaloniki are searching for two individuals who were with the 20-year-old man murdered in Kalamaria. A 23-year-old is in custody, accused of intentional homicide.

The 23-year-old, who was taken to the Thessaloniki Court Complex under tight security, claims he acted in self-defense, alleging that he was attacked by rival team fans. According to him, he used a knife during the altercation.

In his statement, the 23-year-old stated that he received blows to the head and body, and claimed he visited a private doctor for first aid after the incident.

The forensic examination showed that the 20-year-old died from uncontrolled bleeding, due to a rupture of the heart wall from a piercing and cutting instrument.

The two unknown individuals being sought are charged with aggravated dangerous bodily harm and possession of objects that could cause bodily harm.
