Thessaloniki: 40-year-old accused of dog abuse at campsite

A 40-year-old Danish national is accused of abusing his dog at a campsite in Asprovalta, Thessaloniki. According to a complaint, the man was violently beating the animal.

The incident occurred on August 17 and was witnessed by a woman passing by with her child. The witness testified that she saw the 40-year-old hitting his dog with kicks and punches. She immediately called the police, who arrested the man.

The accused denied the charges, claiming that he loves the animal and that he was trying to free it when it got tangled. The trial was postponed to November, pending a veterinary report.
