Thailand: American Man, 54, Murdered in Ambush Over Relationship

A 54-year-old American man, Stein Heath Cole, was beaten to death in Thailand after being ambushed during a meeting with his 24-year-old former girlfriend, Nan Ar Cho, whom he was trying to convince to reconcile.

According to the coroner, Cole sustained five stab wounds and two broken legs. The attack was allegedly carried out by four individuals, including the 24-year-old's new partner and brother.

The incident occurred when Cole reportedly produced a kitchen knife to persuade Cho to return to him. The four young men then allegedly attacked him with a metal pipe and a knife.

Police described Cole as unemployed, alcoholic, and aggressive, and stated that the 24-year-old's family disapproved of their relationship. All four suspects have been arrested and charged with manslaughter.
