Search Continues for Missing Fire Chief in Serres, Greece

The search continues for the fire chief of Ano Poroia, who has been missing since last Tuesday. The search is focused on the Mount Belles area in Serres.

Initially, a vehicle resembling the 45-year-old's car was found near the Papadopoula outpost, at an altitude of 1,600 meters. However, newer information indicates that the vehicle had been abandoned in the area for some time and may be related to a case of illegal migrant transport. Therefore, it does not appear to belong to the missing man.

Special EMAK units, firefighters, volunteers, police officers, the Civil Protection of the Municipality of Sintiki, and the Rodopoli Hunting Club are participating in the search. The chief left his home without his mobile phone and bank cards, wearing a smartwatch, which may help in the search.
