American Women Arrested with 72 kg of Cannabis at Athens Airport

Three American women were arrested at Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" for attempting to transport 72 kg of cannabis in their suitcases. The women, aged 29, 33, and 37, were preparing to travel to Milan.
According to the police, the arrested individuals are allegedly members of an international drug trafficking ring that exports skunk-type cannabis to Italy. Their arrest followed targeted inspections and intelligence gathering.
During the inspection of their luggage, police discovered 72.7 kg of unprocessed hydroponic cannabis (skunk) hidden in nylon packages. Three mobile phones were also confiscated. The arrested women were led to the competent prosecutor's office, and the investigation is ongoing.
