Arrests Made After Clash Between Israelis and Palestinians in Syntagma Square

Police have made five arrests following a clash between Israelis and Palestinians at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Syntagma Square, Athens.

A case file was opened against three Palestinians (aged 27, 26, and 25) for aggravated bodily harm with racist characteristics. Additionally, a case file was opened against a 29-year-old Israeli man for simple bodily harm and threats with racist motives, and against a 30-year-old Israeli woman for insult with racist elements.

A 29-year-old Israeli and a 27-year-old Palestinian were injured and taken to hospitals. Police confiscated six poles, two of which bore Palestinian flags.
