Foreign Nationals Arrested for Hotel Thefts in Chania

Two foreign nationals, aged 41 and 42, have been arrested in Chania for a series of thefts from hotels. The arrests were made on Thursday by police authorities.
According to the police, the perpetrators had stolen jewelry, electronic devices, and cash, with a total value exceeding 1,860 euros. The thefts occurred in hotel rooms in the Municipality of Chania, from June 15 to July 22, 2025.
Police located the two men after a report of a theft from a hotel room on August 5, where they stole 700 euros and personal items. During a search of their home, jewelry and electronic devices were found and confiscated.
The preliminary investigation is continuing by the Sub-Directorate of Crime Prosecution and Investigation of Chania.
