36-Year-Old Arrested with Gun in Athens

A 36-year-old foreign national was arrested in the center of Athens by DI.AS. team police officers during a check.

According to the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.), the 36-year-old attempted to pull a gun with a bullet in the chamber from his pants when officers approached him.

Despite his resistance, the police officers immobilized him and took him to the Department of Crime Prosecution and Investigation of Omonia. A case file was opened against him for violating the law on weapons and violence against employees.

During the search, a gun with a bullet in the chamber, a magazine, and four additional bullets were confiscated.

The arrested man was led to the competent Prosecutor.
