Skiathos: 68-Year-Old Arrested for Drugs – Attacked Port Officers

Authorities in Skiathos have arrested a 68-year-old man on charges of drug possession and assaulting port officers and judicial officials.

The 68-year-old was apprehended while retrieving two unaccompanied pieces of luggage from a tourist boat in the old port of Skiathos. During the search, 14 packages of raw cannabis, weighing a total of 13 kilograms and 320 grams, were discovered. The value of the drugs is estimated at €333,000.

During the arrest, the 68-year-old attacked the port officers and judicial officials. A second person involved attempted to escape and is being sought by the authorities. The Central Port Authority of Volos is conducting the preliminary investigation.
