Skiathos: Gang Busted for Phone Scams – Two Arrests

A gang involved in phone scams using prepaid cards has been busted in Skiathos. Police have arrested two individuals.

The gang members posed as bank employees and persuaded their victims to purchase prepaid cards and reveal their codes.

According to the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.), five cases of phone fraud in Skiathos, Corfu, Samos, Naxos, and Preveza have been solved. The perpetrators managed to extract a total of 3,876 euros.

A case file has been opened against a 48-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, as well as unknown accomplices. The Skiathos Police Department is investigating the case.
