Boat Sinks Off Hydra Island: Two Injured

A boat with two people on board sank off the coast of Hydra Island, west of the islet of Pontikos, on Saturday, August 2nd. The boat collided with rocks under unclear circumstances.

A patrol boat of the coast guard with a doctor, a passing vessel, and a water taxi rushed to the area to assist the passengers.

The two passengers were picked up by a passing vessel and transported to the port of Ermioni, accompanied by the coast guard patrol boat. One of the two was injured in the leg, but his condition is not serious. The other passenger is in good health.

The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the competent port department.
