Serres: Illegal Immigrant Escapes from Detention Center

An illegal immigrant escaped from a closed facility in the Municipality of Sintiki in Serres. The incident occurred last night during heavy rainfall.

According to ERT, six immigrants attempted to escape from the facility, where they are being held after being transferred from Crete. Five were arrested, but one remains at large.

Authorities have launched a major operation to locate the immigrant, with the participation of police officers from Serres, Thessaloniki, and Kilkis.
