Serifos: 27 Dead Sheep Found in Church Storage

A shocking incident occurred in Serifos, where 27 sheep were found dead in a storage area of the Agia Triada church, in the Pharos – Mesa Akrotiri area. The animals were found in appalling conditions, without water and with minimal food.

According to a complaint by Gerontissa Anthodochi, unknown perpetrators had locked the sheep in the storage area after first emptying their water barrels. The sheep died of thirst and hardship, as the space was cramped and without escape.

In addition, damage was caused to the Holy Church of Agia Triada, with broken glass, damaged windows and doors, as well as desecration of the cell of the late Gerontissa Anthousa. Gerontissa Anthodochi expressed her outrage at the inhumane act, condemning the perpetrators.
