Rhodes: 41-year-old arrested for attempted rape of 21-year-old niece

A 41-year-old man has been arrested in Rhodes by police authorities, accused of attempting to rape his 21-year-old niece.

According to dimokratiki, the incident occurred on the morning of last Saturday at the 21-year-old's home. The young woman reported that her uncle entered her room while she was sleeping in a state of intoxication and attempted to kiss and fondle her.

The 41-year-old, an Albanian national and resident of Rhodes, was arrested. He reportedly exercised his right to remain silent during questioning.

The Public Prosecutor has filed felony charges for rape. The case is now in the judicial assessment phase.
