Port Officer Detained for Child Molestation in Volos

A 58-year-old port officer in Volos has been detained following accusations of child molestation. His testimony to the investigator lasted one hour, after which charges were filed, with the agreement of the Prosecutor and the Investigator.
The senior officer was arrested on Saturday, November 8, 2025, as part of the in flagrante delicto procedure. He is accused of sexual acts with a minor for payment, completed and attempted, repeatedly and continuously. A private individual is also accused of complicity.
Additionally, the officer, the private individual, and another port officer are accused of bribery, dereliction of duty, and moral instigation of dereliction of duty, related to ship inspections.
According to the police, on November 7, 2025, the accused was found transporting two minors by motorcycle to an apartment building. During the preliminary investigation, the intention to commit a sexual act with a minor for payment was established. Searches of the suspect's home and vehicle led to the seizure of a mobile phone and bedding, which will be examined in the laboratory.
