Pieria: Tourist in ICU After Dog Attack, Deputy Mayor Arrested

A 61-year-old German tourist is hospitalized in the ICU of Katerini Hospital after being attacked by a pack of dogs in the Litochoro area of Pieria. The responsible Deputy Mayor of Dion-Olympus has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The attack occurred on Wednesday afternoon (11/3) while the tourist was walking alone near Litochoro. According to thestival.gr, she was attacked by a pack of dogs. The woman called her husband, who transported her to the Litochoro Health Center, from where she was transferred to Katerini Hospital.
The 61-year-old sustained injuries to her body, face, and head. She underwent surgery and is being treated in the ICU.
The Deputy Mayor of Dion-Olympus, who is responsible for stray animals, has been arrested and faces charges of violating the law on the welfare of companion animals and causing bodily harm through negligence. He is expected to be brought before the Prosecutor.
