Piraeus: 75-year-old found dead in the port

A 75-year-old man was found dead in the port of Piraeus on Sunday evening. The incident occurred in the area of gate E1.

Coast Guard officers rushed to the scene and pulled the elderly man out of the water unconscious. He was then transported by ambulance to the General Hospital of Elefsina «Thriassio», where he was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation has been launched by the A' Port Department Tzelepi of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
