Patras: 82-Year-Old Obstetrician Jailed for Child Pornography

An 82-year-old retired obstetrician-gynecologist from Patras has been jailed on charges of child pornography. His request to be held at home with an electronic bracelet was rejected.

According to pelop.gr, he is expected to be held in the correctional facility of Tripoli. The arrest was made by the Cyber Crime Division, following information transmitted by the American organization NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children).

At his home, authorities seized devices and hard drives, where photos and videos of sexual abuse of minors under 12 years of age were found, as well as files allegedly depicting his relatives. The digital evidence will be sent to the Forensic Science Division for examination.
