Patras: 46-Year-Old Known to Authorities Kills 85-Year-Old

A 46-year-old man, known to authorities for theft and drug offenses, ran over and killed an 85-year-old woman in Patras. The accident occurred on Akti Dymaion when the motorcycle driver, without a license plate, violated a red light.

The motorcycle driven by the 46-year-old did not have a license plate and reportedly started from Athens. The 46-year-old was granted a deadline to apologize to the investigator tomorrow, while a felony criminal prosecution has been filed against him.

According to testimonies, the driver violated the red light and developed high speed, dragging the 85-year-old and a 7-year-old girl. The grandmother allegedly protected her granddaughter, receiving the collision herself. The father of the 7-year-old denounced the lack of a psychologist in the hospital to support his daughter.

The father of the 7-year-old, speaking to MEGA, said that the motorcycle "destroyed" the 85-year-old grandmother.
