Woman Found Dead in Piraeus Port

A woman was found dead in the port of Piraeus on Monday morning, August 25. The body was discovered by the captain and a sailor of a passenger ship.

Nikos Koutsoukos, a sailor on the ship "Apollon Hellas", reported seeing the woman floating on her back, wearing black clothes and sea shoes. The incident occurred at gate E8 of the port, in front of the crew and passengers of the ship, which was departing for Aegina.

Captain Stratos Teknakis immediately notified the port authorities, who retrieved the body. The woman was transported to Tzaneio Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The circumstances of her death remain unclear.
