Lefkada: 17-Year-Old Arrested for Attacking Students and Teacher

A 17-year-old has been arrested in Lefkada for attacking students and a teacher. The incident occurred on the sidelines of a sports meeting between students from an experimental high school in Lefkada and students from a general high school in Corfu.

According to ERT, the attack took place outside the city's gymnasium after a verbal altercation. Three people from the Corfu school were attacked by minors. Students were slightly injured, and the accompanying teacher was injured while trying to protect the students.

Police arrested a 17-year-old and his father, who is accused of neglecting the supervision of a minor. A case file was formed against the 17-year-old based on the law on violence in school sports events. Authorities are looking for at least two more people who allegedly participated in the attack.

The teacher was taken to Lefkada Hospital for first aid and discharged. The delegation from Corfu returned to Corfu.
