Larissa: Matricide Accused Claims, "I am not a murderer"

The trial of a 22-year-old accused of murdering his mother in Larissa in May 2025 began at the Mixed Jury Court of Volos. The accused claimed he is not a murderer and had been bullied.
During his testimony, the 22-year-old stated, "I am not a murderer, I love all people... I have experienced bullying, I couldn't find a girlfriend because I am overweight." He also described the circumstances of the murder, mentioning alcohol and drug consumption before the crime.
The accused's cousin, who faces charges of harboring a criminal, testified that he was terrified when he discovered the crime and was threatened by the 22-year-old.
The prosecutor proposed the conviction of both defendants, arguing that the 22-year-old was fully aware of his actions and that his cousin had the opportunity to react but did not.
The trial was adjourned to March 17.
