Lamia: 48-year-old arrested for indecent assault against minor niece

A 48-year-old man was arrested by police officers of the Lamia Sub-Directorate of Crime Prosecution and Investigation for repeated acts of indecent assault against his minor niece, starting from the age of 12.

According to lamiareport.gr, the man was arrested on Wednesday (28/1) morning at his home in the Lamia area, following a complaint by his sister and the girl's mother. The girl confided in her mother and an aunt about what she had been going through at the hands of her uncle for the past three years.

The arrested man allegedly drove his niece to remote places in his car from 2023 and engaged in sexual acts, the last time being last Christmas. However, he continued to harass the girl even in 2026, since, due to kinship, he could move freely inside her house. Moreover, lately his intentions were also reflected in messages on a social networking platform.

The police confiscated the arrested man's car and mobile phone for further laboratory examination. He requested and was granted time to apologize on Friday (30/1) morning.
