Traffic Chaos on Kifisos Avenue Due to Accident

Severe traffic problems are being experienced on Kifisos Avenue this morning due to an accident. Two trucks collided near Egaleo, heading towards Lamia, causing long queues.

According to initial reports, a truck traveling towards Kifissia, for an unknown reason, crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a truck heading towards Piraeus. The drivers of the two vehicles were injured and taken to the hospital.

Traffic on the southbound Kifisos starts from Metamorfosi and extends to Egaleo. Additionally, drivers are facing difficulties on Athens Avenue towards Aspropyrgos, as well as on sections of Mesogeion and Kifissias Avenues. The queue of cars heading towards Piraeus stretches for 6.5 kilometers.

Delays are also reported on Athens Avenue and Thivon Avenue, as well as on the roads around the center of Athens and on Kifissias Avenue.

On Attiki Odos, there are delays of 20-25 minutes in the direction towards the Airport, from the Metamorfosi junction to the Penteli junction, and delays of 5-10 minutes in the direction towards Elefsina, from the Plakentias junction to the Kifissias junction, as well as at the exit for Piraeus.
