Crete: Couple Arrested for 14 Burglaries Exceeding €60,000

A couple has been arrested in Crete for committing 14 burglaries in homes, with loot exceeding €60,000. The arrest took place at the port of Heraklion, following a police operation.
The 48-year-old man and his 41-year-old partner, according to patris.gr, had burglarized 14 homes in Chania, Rethymno, and Heraklion in the last six months. Police located them as they were trying to board a ship bound for Piraeus.
During the search of their rented car, 55.17 grams of methadone, 2.7 grams of heroin, €2,400 from criminal activity, jewelry, clothing, personal documents, and burglary tools were found. The items were returned to their owners.
The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Heraklion Sub-Directorate of Crime Prosecution and Investigation.
