Shocking revelations are emerging in the case of the murder of 87-year-old Eleni Papadopoulou in an apartment in Kolonaki. Her son is the main suspect.

According to police data, the 60-year-old allegedly drugged his mother, killed her (possibly with a pillow), and then set fire to the apartment to cover his tracks.

Police reporter Vasilis Lambropoulos stated that the 60-year-old had tried to create an alibi, saying he picked up a domestic helper from Samou Street near Larissis Station. However, contradictions arose in the testimonies regarding the apartment key.

The way the 60-year-old described the fire is chilling, as he laughed during the description. A firefighter reported smelling a flammable liquid, which the son denied. A combustion accelerator was detected on the woman's clothing.

When the 60-year-old learned about the suspicion of flammable material, he called the Fire Department stating that there was some gasoline in the toilet. Reportedly, the accused was preparing to leave the country.
