«Kivotos tou Kosmou»: Father Antonios Guilty of Abuse

The Athens Misdemeanors Court of Appeal found Father Antonios and four other defendants guilty in the case of physical abuse at «Kivotos tou Kosmou» (Ark of the World).

Father Antonios was found guilty of 9 out of the 19 acts for which he was tried, all misdemeanors. The conviction concerns six acts of grievous bodily harm to minors, moral authorship of dangerous bodily harm to a minor, moral authorship of simple bodily harm, and moral authorship of threat.

Four of his associates were also found guilty, including a former member of the administration, the former head of educators in Volos, and the former director of the structure in Volos. The charges include grievous bodily harm, dangerous bodily harm, simple bodily harm, threat, and exposure. Two defendants were acquitted.

In the first instance, Father Antonios was sentenced to 51 months in prison, while his associates received sentences ranging from 17 to 40 months.
