Kenya: More Shocking Findings in Starvation Cult Case
Share on:

Investigations continue in Kenya regarding the cult case where hundreds of people died of starvation. Authorities have discovered nine more bodies in mass graves.

The investigations are focused on the area where self-proclaimed pastor Mackenzie was active. Authorities do not rule out the existence of more bodies, as the area is vast. They have called on citizens to report any missing persons and provide DNA samples.

One of the bodies is estimated to have been buried two to three weeks ago, while the others were in a state of decomposition. There are indications that an attempt was made to remove a body.

More than 400 bodies have been found in total since 2023 in the Sakakola area, near the city of Malindi. The victims are believed to have been followers of Paul Mackenzie, who allegedly told them they would reach paradise faster if they stopped eating. Mackenzie denies the charges.

Prosecutors have arrested 11 people in connection with the case, and there are fears that the cult is still active.
