Kastoria: Man Found Dead in Charos Chasm – Recovery Operation Underway

A man was found dead in a difficult-to-access area in Kastoria, specifically in the Charos Chasm, in the Grammos mountain range. Authorities have launched an operation to recover the body.

According to ERT, the man was approximately 30-35 years old. Access to the location is extremely difficult, requiring the assistance of specialized personnel and equipment. A special team of EMAK (Special Disaster Management Unit) climbers is expected to assist in the operation.

The man was not from the Kastoria area but had traveled from Athens. The causes and circumstances of his fall into the chasm remain unknown. After the recovery, the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.) will begin an investigation.
