Karpathos: 36-year-old jumps from ship, hospitalized

A 36-year-old local man jumped from the ship «Blue Star Chios» during the docking process at the port of Pigadia, Karpathos, on Tuesday morning (August 5).

Port Authority officials and crew members immediately mobilized and rescued the man safely from the sea using lifebuoys.

The 36-year-old was taken to the island's hospital for precautionary examinations and remains hospitalized. The Karpathos Port Authority is conducting a preliminary investigation into the causes of the incident.
