Italy: 13-Year-Old Student Stabs Teacher, Records Attack

A 13-year-old student stabbed his teacher in front of a school entrance in Bergamo, northern Italy, today.

The 57-year-old teacher was taken to the hospital. According to reports, her life is not in danger. Italian media report that the French teacher was stabbed in the neck and abdomen and underwent surgery.

Eyewitnesses say the 13-year-old filmed the attack with his cell phone. He was wearing a shirt with the word "vendetta" and military-style pants. A teacher and two administrative staff immobilized him. An air pistol was found in his pocket.

Special support from a team of psychologists was activated for the other students, and parents were asked to pick up their children from school. The reasons for the attack remain unknown.
