Heraklion: School Principal Jailed for Rape of 16-Year-Old

The school principal in Heraklion, accused of raping a 16-year-old student, has been jailed following his testimony to the investigating authorities.
He faces felony charges of raping a minor and indecent assault.
The complaint was filed by the 16-year-old and her mother at the Heraklion Police Department, reporting two incidents of indecent gestures. The first allegedly occurred in a ship cabin on the return from Athens, where the minor participated in a martial arts seminar, accompanied by the 63-year-old. The second incident is alleged to have taken place in late April at his home.
Following the complaint, a search was conducted at the 63-year-old's residence, where two switchblades were found, leading to his arrest for illegal possession of weapons. Electronic devices were also seized from his home and office.
The family's lawyer, Teta Kalaitzaki, congratulated the 16-year-old for her courage in reporting the incident.
