Igoumenitsa: Over 350 kg of Cannabis Found in Truck, 58-Year-Old Arrested

Over 350 kg of cannabis were discovered in a truck at the port of Igoumenitsa, leading to the arrest of a 58-year-old foreigner.

The 58-year-old was arrested on Thursday (13/11) for importing and transporting cannabis from Spain. He was found driving a tractor-trailer containing 50 packages with 353 kg and 19 grams of cannabis, hidden on pallets among legitimate cargo.

The quantities had been received in the first 10 days of the month from Spain and were imported into Greece via Italy by ferry. A 40-year-old foreigner is also implicated in the case, responsible for coordinating the transport from Spain.

Also seized were a tractor, a trailer, €6,230, two mobile phones, and various documents. The arrested individual was led to the competent prosecutor's office.
