Athens: 16-year-old dies after night out - Friends recount events

A 16-year-old's death in Gazi, Athens, following a night out with friends has caused grief. According to testimonies, the young girl collapsed outside a club early Sunday morning.
Her friends stated that they had visited two entertainment venues, and had been at a friend's house beforehand. At the last club, the 16-year-old felt unwell and went outside, where she collapsed.
"She told us she loved us and then collapsed," said a friend of the 16-year-old. She mentioned that they had bought a bottle of vodka from a liquor store and consumed it before going to the club.
The autopsy indicated pulmonary edema, but the exact cause of death is expected to be determined by toxicology tests.
In a published video, the minor is seen with her friends shopping at a mini market before heading to the club on Dekeleon Street.
The mother of a friend of the 16-year-old stated that the group was getting ready and having fun at home before going out.
