Fire in Palaia Fokaia: Evacuations in Thymari and Tourkolimano

A fire has been raging since noon in Palaia Fokaia, spreading to residential areas. Flames have reached yards and houses, causing damage to an unknown number of residences.

90 firefighters are operating with 28 vehicles, three infantry teams, and from the air, 8 aircraft and 5 helicopters are involved.

Evacuation has been ordered in Thymari towards Lagonisi and in Tourkolimano towards Lavrio. Traffic has been stopped on Athens-Sounion Avenue.

Authorities are on high alert.
