Fire in Amygdaleza: Container Fire at Detention Center

A fire broke out in a container at the migrant detention center in Amygdaleza, in the Menidi area, on Monday evening.

The fire service reported that the fire started in a container inside the PROKEPA (Pre-Departure Detention Center for Foreigners) and was quickly brought under control. The causes of the fire remain unknown.

Three fire trucks with 9 personnel responded to the scene. The detention center is located within the Hellenic Police Academy.
