Police Operation in Roma Settlements: Arrests and Reactions

A large-scale police operation took place in Roma settlements in Paiania and Spata on 12/3/2026. At least 16 people were arrested for electricity theft, and 230 meters of cables were removed.
According to reports, a Roma family is allegedly involved in scams with gold sovereigns, blackmail, usury, and fraud with child benefits.
In early March, a call center in Zefyri was located, which was used for telephone scams throughout Greece.
