A heated incident took place in Korydallos Prison, where Irini Mourtzoukou, remanded in custody for the murder of four infants, was attacked by the mother of 3-year-old Angelos from Crete.

Reportedly, Angelos' mother allegedly hit the 25-year-old self-confessed infanticide in the head, using broken glass.

Irini Mourtzoukou's lawyer, Nikos Alexandris, confirmed the incident to ereportaz, emphasizing the need for the safety of prisoners awaiting trial. "Whatever happens, the truth will shine through at any cost," he stated.

Mourtzoukou was taken to the hospital for first aid and returned to her cell after a few days of hospitalization. Korydallos prison authorities are investigating the incident, while Angelos' mother is in isolation.
