Giannis Malamas Released – Trial Postponed

Giannis Malamas, the 24-year-old son of Sokratis Malamas, was released after his trial was postponed to April. The young man was brought before the prosecutor following an incident with a police officer.
According to reports, the incident began with a confrontation with a taxi driver. During the inspection, Giannis Malamas allegedly resisted and insulted the police officers. He then allegedly hit a police officer, who was taken to the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens with injuries.
A case file was opened against him for violence against employees, insult, threat, and bodily harm. He also allegedly continued to threaten the police officers inside the Akropoli Police Station.
His mother told reporters that her son is a sensitive and kind child, and that he probably received action that he could not bear.
