A new police operation took place in Vorizia, Heraklion, Crete, resulting in the detention of two individuals reportedly related to the family of 39-year-old Fanouris Kargakis, who was killed during a shootout last Saturday.

The detainees are being investigated for possible involvement in the bloody clash or for possession of weapons. Police sources report that findings were discovered in their homes.

Meanwhile, police are searching for the second person who participated in the attack along with the 43-year-old son-in-law of Fanouris Kargakis, who was arrested for weaponry found on his property. The 43-year-old was identified from video footage firing a Kalashnikov, with authorities investigating whether his shots killed 56-year-old Evangelia Fragiadakis.

Three arrested individuals, aged 19, 27, and 29, have been granted an extension to testify on Monday, while two men who are hospitalized under guard at PAGNI are expected to testify today.
