Greek police (ELAS) have dismantled a drug ring operating within prisons. A prison employee and inmates are implicated in the case.

According to the police, a 30-year-old civilian has been arrested, while 46 more individuals are included in the case file.

The investigation began after a complaint that an inmate was distributing drugs inside the prison with the help of a prison guard. Those involved used prepaid cards and betting company accounts for their transactions.

At least 72 cases of drug trafficking and use were identified. Cannabis, grinders, precision scales, and mobile phones were confiscated.

The arrested individual was led to the competent prosecutor's office.
