Dimitris Lignadis: Appeal Trial Postponed to June 2026

The appeal trial of Dimitris Lignadis has been postponed to June 5, 2026, due to the unavailability of the defense lawyers. The director and actor will be retried for the sexual abuse of three boys.
In the first instance, Lignadis was found guilty of two rapes of 17-year-olds in 2015 and sentenced to 12 years in prison, suspended until the appeal. The court acquitted him of the rape of an adult in 2018 and a 16-year-old in 2011.
The Prosecutor of Appeals had requested a heavier sentence and a re-examination of the acquittal for the third charge of child rape.
