Three arrests have been made by the police for fraud involving the bank account of a woman who died in 2016. The perpetrators managed to extract €95,000.

According to the Hellenic Police (ELAS), the arrested individuals, since November 2024, had formed a criminal group with the intention of embezzling €248,856.02 from the deceased's account. They used forged documents to present an elderly woman as the account holder.

Bank employees noticed the fraud and proceeded to freeze the account. The arrested individuals are accused of forgery, fraud, and money laundering from criminal activity.
