Algerian Mother in Court for Death of 3-Year-Old in Palaio Faliro

A 32-year-old Algerian mother is appearing in court today in connection with the death of her 3-year-old daughter in Palaio Faliro. She faces charges of intentional homicide and domestic violence.
Bloodstains found at the family's home in Patissia have been identified as belonging to the child. The mother initially claimed the child had an accident in the bathroom, but later changed her story, saying she slipped in the sea.
However, the forensic examination suggests foul play. Forensic expert Dimitris Galenteris reported injuries inconsistent with the mother's account, including head injuries and facial trauma.
The case has caused shock, as the mother has a history with the authorities for domestic violence allegations. Her other two children are now under protection.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the death and the role of the 32-year-old's partner.
