Shark Attack in Brazil: Woman Bitten While Snorkeling

A video circulating online shows the moment a shark attacked a 36-year-old woman in Brazil while she was snorkeling. The incident occurred in the Fernando de Noronha archipelago.

According to the video, the shark approached the woman and bit her on the thigh. The woman stated that she felt the shark shaking her leg, and a diver had to hit it to make it release her.

The 36-year-old was taken to a hospital, where she received first aid and was discharged. Photos posted on social media show the injury, which she described as not particularly deep.

The type of shark that attacked was the so-called nurse shark, which is not considered a particularly aggressive species.
