Three men from Vietnam survived for 40 hours at sea after Typhoon Kalmaegi. They were rescued on Saturday, a rescuer told Agence France-Presse (AFP).

The men had been swept off the coast of Vietnam. According to Phan Hau, 40, his ship, the An Vinh Express, rescued one of the men. He told AFP that it was like living a miracle.

According to Vietnamese state media, the three men had been lost on Thursday afternoon. One of them, Duong Quang Khuong, 44, was found in the water after a family dispute.

Pham Duy Khuong was picked up by the ship Hai Nam 39 south of Ly Son Island. The port authorities were then notified, who sent the An Vinh Express.

A video shows Le Quang Sanh floating alone on the surface of the water, while crew members shout his name and throw him a life preserver. Duong Quang Khuong was rescued by a third vessel.

Typhoon Kalmaegi struck central Vietnam on Thursday, killing at least 5 people, while leaving more than 200 dead in the Philippines.
