Extensive floods and damage have been caused by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica, leaving at least seven dead in the Caribbean.

Parts of buildings collapsed, and roofs were swept away by strong winds. Roads have been blocked due to fallen trees and rocks.

According to the US National Hurricane Center, Melissa remains a powerful hurricane with winds reaching 260 km/h.

The Red Cross has warned that up to 1.5 million people are expected to be directly affected.

The slow movement of the hurricane is exacerbating the situation, increasing the risk of floods and landslides.
